About Judith

PORTRAITS 043_cr 300 tall

I was born and brought up in Norwich and now live with my husband in Swindon. I wrote my first novel (now languishing in the back of a drawer somewhere) when my two children were toddlers, but there was little time for writing when I returned to work teaching Geography in a large comprehensive. It was only after leaving my headship that I was able to take up writing again in earnest.

Life is still busy. I teach Tai Chi, and line dancing, yoga, Pilates and Zumba take up much of my time. My other hobbies include reading, and travelling. I am lucky enough to be a cruise lecturer. You can read some of my adventures – the Ups and Downs of Being a Cruise Lecturer on my September 2014 blog on my home page.

It’s no surprise that I read a great deal of crime fiction. My favourite authors include Zoë Sharp, Robert Goddard, Felix Francis, Nicci French, P D James and Lesley Horton, all of whom I’ve had the great privilege of meeting. I am also addicted to the zany comedy of Jasper Fford (his ‘The Well of Lost Plots’ is a must for all aspiring crime novelists) and the great Terry Pratchett both of whom I’ve met and chatted to. I introduced Jasper at a conference and chaired the question and answer session after his talk.
